Extrusion

The Hunter Douglas profile extrusion operation is fully integrated in that we are capable of taking each job from concept to delivery.

Currently, we supply a variety of specialized profiles with a wide range of plastics including rigid and flexible PVC, ABS, and Acrylics.

Custom colors are available as well as co-extrusion capabilities for dual
durometer applications.

Capable of painting profiles In-Line.

Secondary operations such as notching, punching and assembly are completed in our assembly department.

Extrusion also utilizes the Vision based coordinate measuring machines for inspecting product and for doing complete first article inspections. The Hunter Lab and MacBeth color measurement systems are also employed when running colored profiles.

Each extrusion profile has its own unique inspection criteria which includes dimensional, functional and mating part fit checks. Product is inspected at specified intervals by trained machine operators to insure product quality.

We also have an exceptional preventive maintenance program that utilizes a state of the art ultrasonic cleaning system to ensure that our extrusion dies are properly maintained to produce quality parts at their maximum expected life.
